Obstacles

With the flurry of new students that tend to come with springtime, and Summer Camp sign ups, we’ve been getting asked a lot lately:  what do you teach?

What we are really aiming to teach is captured in a phrase we use again and again, a phrase from our 33rd grandmaster, Tokishigu Takamatu:  “Ninjutsu is the way of attaining that which we need while making the world a better place.”  Each month, we approach this concept from a different angle, but in essence, it’s always about this core principle.

This month’s theme is Awareness.  Our focus this week is using our awareness to wrap around obstacles.  Wrapping around obstacles so we can get our needs met, yes.  And then going beyond that, to see the connections between our obstacles and other’s obstacles.

Here’s a little vid to inspire you to get creative when wrapping around obstacles.  Try watching it once now and returning to it sometime when you feel stuck.

Enjoy!
